The air was thick with more than just the smell of grilled meat; it was thick with gratitude. The latest Barbecue do Sr. Jorge wasn’t just another party it was a massive “Thank You” to the man himself, Sr. Jorge, as he marked his retirement after nearly 40 years of service.

A Sea of Faces
Walking through the crowd, you could see the history of Portuguese architecture. Famous alumni, who now run international firms, returned to their roots to hug the man who used to check in on them during late-night studio marathons. It reminded us that while the buildings at FAUP are made of concrete and stone, the soul of the school is made of people like Jorge.
The Magic of the Sunset
As the music played and the sun began its descent over the river, the “Casa Cor-de-Rosa” glowed. The laughter was louder than usual, and the toasts were more frequent. We weren’t just celebrating a barbecue; we were celebrating the fact that despite the stress of deadlines and the pressure of the craft, we have a home here.
Relive the Memories
For those who couldn’t make it, or for those who want to find themselves in the crowd, we have compiled a visual tribute to this historic day. Every smile, every dance, and every grilled sandwich was captured to ensure this legacy lives on forever.
